The role

Work that must hold up
in the real world.

No candidate is expected to cover every specialism. Archaeopolis commissions the right maker or team for each verified object, garment and production brief.

What the work may include

  • Pattern development, cutting, sewing, leather construction and finishing.
  • Translation of historical references into durable, production-ready pieces.
  • Fittings, alterations, dressing and selected on-site costume support.
  • Clear documentation of materials, methods, timings and workshop authorship.

What we are looking for

  • A portfolio showing finished costume, textile, leather or related craft work.
  • Precision, dependable deadlines and professional communication.
  • Clear knowledge of materials, construction methods and practical wear.
  • Willingness to work within an agreed historical and aesthetic direction.

Useful, but not essential for every assignment

  • Natural-fibre, hand-finishing, dyeing, footwear or accessories experience.
  • Experience with performance, film, theatre, museum or event garments.
  • Capacity for commissioned making from your own workshop.
