The production story
The work follows Strepsiades, his debts and the attempt to find an answer through Socrates’ teaching. Chania’s synopsis describes a modern adaptation of Aristophanes using theatrical performance, animation, stop motion, voiceover, music and song.
The festival identifies a Greek production from 2021, intended for children aged ten and above. Its format is a hybrid theatrical screen work, rather than an archaeological documentary or a literal reconstruction of ancient Athens.

Ancient and contemporary Athens are the adaptation’s narrative references. Heraklion is the credited commissioning municipality; the festival does not establish a complete list of shoot locations.
