Kalesma x Faye Chatzi: A thread through time

Kalesma's collaboration with Faye Chatzi brought a working loom and a hands-on weaving atelier into the hotel. The announced format allowed guests to watch the making process and join small workshops, leaving with a keepsake rather than only seeing a finished textile. Chatzi's practice draws on wool from Mykonos and neighbouring Rhenia, natural dyes and a non-electrical loom, making material and method visible together.

The strongest part of the experience is that craft became an activity with time, touch and conversation, not just a decorative reference to heritage. It gave guests a concrete way to engage with local making within a contemporary hospitality stay. Archaeopolis's historically rooted private experiences pursue a different form of participatory learning; the weaving atelier was created by Kalesma and Chatzi independently.
