The Mystery of the Trojan Horse
Released · 2021
Homeric & Mycenaean · Greek Mythology
A documentary investigation revisits the Trojan horse story through archaeological questions and alternative readings of the myth.

The production story
Roland May’s film examines the famous narrative of Greek soldiers entering Troy inside a wooden horse. It tests how myth, material evidence and proposed explanations can be brought into a documentary account.
Gruppe 5 records a 2021 first broadcast and lists a 45-minute Terra X version alongside a 52-minute ARTE version. These are versions of one production, not separate archive entries. The programme’s alternative hypothesis is presented as an investigation rather than a settled replacement for the myth.
Known filming locations
Troy is the central historical and mythological subject. The producer’s page does not publish a complete list of physical filming locations.
