Define the historical frame
Living history becomes vague when it tries to represent all of antiquity at once. A project starts by defining place, period, activity and audience. Those decisions establish which sources matter and which familiar visual motifs do not belong.
Make knowledge physical
Research moves into materials and action: linen and wool, natural pigments, bronze, clay, wood, food, tools, instruments and the gestures required to use them. Reconstructions must also work under real conditions, from live service to close camera coverage.
Rehearse the encounter
The final layer is human. Performers, makers and hosts need a shared understanding of the world being presented and of the audience in front of them. Rehearsal turns separate researched elements into a coherent experience while leaving space for genuine interaction.
Evidence sets the boundaries. Production gives the encounter its life.
