What we delivered.

01

An international conference in Athens

The World Conference on Forests for Public Health brought an international scientific audience to Athens to consider the relationship between forests, green spaces and human wellbeing. The conference took place at the Athens War Museum from 8 to 11 May 2019.

02

Four dancers and a globe

Archaeopolis presented The Dance of Gaia within the conference’s cultural programme. Four dancers moved around a globe, passing between standing formations, low balances and acrobatic passages. The ensemble and the spherical prop formed the central image of the performance.

03

Music performed alongside the dance

The musicians performed alongside the dancers on the same stage. Lyre, wind instruments and frame drum accompanied the movement, bringing the musical and choreographic elements together in front of the conference audience.

04

A stage of movement and shadows

Blue stage light and enlarged shadows extended the dancers’ gestures across the backdrop. Wide views of the ensemble and close photographs of individual passages record a cultural performance delivered within the international scientific gathering.
