The production story

The series moves through Bronze Age origins, the Archaic world, classical Athens, the Peloponnesian War and Macedonia’s rise. It combines international researchers with an examination of the social costs of power.

Gruppe 5 explicitly records the first broadcast in 2025. Its domestic version is five 45-minute episodes, with five 52-minute international versions listed for ZDF Studios. It belongs in Current Radar’s 2025 releases, not the 2024 archive.
