Archaeopolis contribution

What we delivered.

01

A five-day international programme in Greece

Across four parallel itineraries from 17 to 21 September 2018, the programme brought international creators, filming crews and Ubisoft representatives through Athens and destinations in mainland and island Greece. The private production schedule documents the scale and sequencing of this multi-day programme without being made publicly downloadable.

02

Historical activity designed for creators and crews

Archaeopolis delivered the historically informed activity programme: historical gastronomy, ancient archery, hoplitodromia and a Spartan race with shield and sandals, pankration, sword-and-shield training, an eagle-flight and falconry experience, and the reconstructed equipment, costume and performance support that connected these encounters into a coherent ancient Greek world.

03

Gastronomy, equipment and performance as one production

The work moved beyond static display. Guests handled equipment, entered physical training sequences, tasted a purpose-designed historical menu and encountered music, mythology, animals and performance as parts of one lived environment. The photographic archive confirms these activities through event coverage and frames preserved from the resulting films.

04

Multiple locations and parallel itineraries

Archaeopolis also contributed set design, historical props, historical consultancy and choreography design for promotional production. Public reports independently document Ubisoft’s Athens presentation and the released campaign; the detailed Archaeopolis scope is established by the private programme, project archive and founder confirmation.

Two documented menus · 18 & 20 September

Historical Gastronomy Delivered for the Event

Archaeopolis developed two distinct menus for the event, combining breads, appetisers, main dishes, sweets, snacks and drinks into a complete historical-gastronomy programme delivered on 18 and 20 September.

The menus were historically informed through ingredients, flavours and culinary references associated with the ancient Greek world, adapted for the practical requirements of a contemporary event setting. They are presented here as part of the documented Archaeopolis project record.

Event archive film · 11 seconds

The eagle and
the drone.

This 11-second Archaeopolis archive film records a trained eagle intercepting a drone during the confirmed eagle-flight and falconry programme. It preserves an exceptional moment from the live activity while demonstrating the speed, targeting ability and decisive grip of a large raptor. The sequence documents a controlled professional demonstration and is not presented for unsupervised imitation.

Primary visual record

What the film shows.

The official live-action film moves through a densely staged ancient world: market life, textiles and vessels, domestic scenes, mounted travel and choreographed combat. It is shown as the finished production to which Archaeopolis reports contributing; the film credits available publicly do not itemise that contribution.
